नेपालको राष्ट्रिय खेल प्रतियोगितामा कहिल्यै हार नभोगेका नेपालका अपराजित खेलाडी दीपक बिष्टको सम्मानमा शनिबार दिउँसो न्यू योर्कको कुइन्सस्थित साँग्रिला रेस्टुरेन्टमा आयोजना गरिएको उक्त सम्मान समारोहमा खेलाडी बिष्टलाई संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघकालागि नेपाली स्थाई नियोग प्रमुख महामहिम राजदूत ज्ञानचन्द्र आचार्यले न्यू योर्कबासी नेपालीहरुकोतर्फबाट दोसल्ला ओढाइ सम्मान गर्नु भएको थियो। महामहिम आचार्यले खेलाडी बिष्टलाई दोसल्लाकासाथ अभिनन्दन पत्र पनि प्रदान गर्नु भयो।

कार्यक्रममा न्यू योर्कका नेपाली काँग्रेसका युबा नेता आनन्द बिष्टले आयोजकहरुकातर्फबाट पुष्प गुच्छाले स्वागत गर्नु भएको थियो भने उहाँले न्यू योर्कका नेपालीहरुद्वारा प्रदान गरिएको नगद सहयोग रकम दुई हजार पाँच सय एक डलरको चेकपनि खेलाडी बिष्टलाई हस्तान्तरण गर्नु भएको थियो।

नेपाली समाजका अगुवा डा. तारा निरौलाको सभापतित्व र कलाकार तथा सामाजिक अधिकारकर्मी शैलेश श्रेष्ठको उद्घोषणमा संचालित उक्त समारोहमा सभापति डा. निरौला र प्रमुख अतिथी महामहिम आचार्यका अलावा नेपाली समाजका बिभिन्न प्रतिनिधिहरुले आ-आफ्नो शुभकामना मन्तब्य ब्यक्त गर्नु भएको थियो। जस्मा ब्लड डोनर्स अफ अमेरिकाका अध्यक्ष अर्जुन मैनाली, नेपाली जन संपर्क समिती न्यू योर्क संयोजक कृष्ण पोख्रेल, नेपाल आदिबासी जनजाति महासंघ अमेरिका (फिप्ना) का महासचिब आदित्य महर्जन, रिज्वूड नेपालीज सोसाइटीका अध्यक्ष श्री पराजुली, डा. अंगराज तिमल्सिना र यो पंक्तिकार थियो।

समारोहमा आयोजककातर्फबाट आनन्द बिष्टले खेलाडी बिष्टको बारेमा प्रकाश पार्नु भएको थियो भने अन्य बक्ताहरुले खेलाडी बिष्टको शिघ्र स्वास्थ्य लाभको कामना गर्दै नेपालीको गौरब खेलाडी बिष्टलाई यसरी सम्मान गरिएकोमा खुशी ब्यक्त गरेका थिए।

उनिहरुले खेलाडी बिष्टको उपलब्धिबाट गौरब गर्न र प्रेरणा लिन सकिने उल्लेख गर्दै नेपालमा खेलकुदको बिकासमा सरकारकोतर्फबाट एथेस्ट लगानी र प्रोत्साहन नभएकोमा गुनासो ब्यक्त गर्दै खेलाडी बिष्टले अझ बढी भूमिका खेल्नु पर्ने दायित्व थपिएको उल्लेख गरेका थिए।
