NEPAL "Peace Talks" at RMA, July 18

Greetings, everyone, and Namaste!

In conjunction with the Rubin Museum of Art's current Nepal exhibition, From the Land of the Gods: Art of the Kathmandu Valley, we are hosting a series of talks given by RPCVs (Returned Peace Corps Volunteers) who had served in Nepal. They are using the artwork in the exhibit to recall memories and reflect on the experiences they had while living in this beautiful and extraordinary secular Federal Democratic Republic! (Of course, it was a Hindu Kingdom while we were all living there!)

As our series of Nepal RPCV "PeaceTalks" continues, I want to let you all know that the next RPCV presentation at the Rubin Museum will be my own!

My NEPAL "PeaceTalk" will begin at 7pm on Friday evening, July 18th. As a part of this talk series, I have selected a few works of art in our stunning Nepal exhibition, which have inspired great memories of my life and amazing moments in Palpa, Nepal. Please come as I share these magical memories about the people, places, and experiences that changed my life!

And please spread the word about this engaging talk series, in which RPCVs offer perspectives and insight into the art of Nepal that only RPCVs can.

Also, please note that, as this is part of our Friday evening K2 Lounge programming, admission is free to all!

Here is the information about General Convention of the Global Federation of Indigenous Peoples of Nepal (GFIPN), going to be held on July 13, 2008, New York. We highly encourage to participate all Nepali IPs Organizations and individuals in the process of this Event. Before joining in the process every IPs Organization must register their Organization and send name of representatives (not more than three persons from one IPs Organization) to the GFIPN by e-mail or telephone. This is simply to make easy for organizing the convention. Our tentative program schedule will send you very soon.
