Nepali Leaders/Organizations Meeting, August 31

Namaste everyone,
I wanted to take this opportunity (prompted by Binod dai's email) to finally organize the Nepali leaders/organizations meeting that Adhikaar agreed to organize during our last meeting at Rubin Museum. I have spoken to a few of you and based on your suggestions, decided on the date/time.

When: August 31st (Sunday), 3pm - 5pm
Where: Adhikaar Office, 39-06 62nd Street, BL (basement), Woodside, transportation: #7 to 61st Street/Woodside; LIRR to Woodside;
buses Q32 and Q56 to 61st Street/Roosevelt

NECC-VAC Fundraising, August 23
Dear Community members,

Nepal Educational and Cultural Center Vitalizing Action Committee would like to invite community members for a public meeting. The meeting will update NECC-VAC activities regarding fundraising, land purchasing and so on. Financial coordinator of NECC-VAC CPA Mr. Hari Sharma will present a fundraising scheme for NECC. Information about the perspective land in Poolesville Maryland scheduled for settlement on August 27, 2008 will be updated. All community members are kindly invited to support the community cause. Dear friends,
Please find the official circulation of Dr. Mahabir Pun's talk program at Rubin Museum of Arts on Sunday at 6 PM. Please forward it to your friends and encourage participation in large number. The seats are limited.

Besides this formal program at RMA, Federation of Indigenous Peoples of Nepal in America (FIPNA) will have an informal meeting with Dr. Mahabir Pun at its office from 12 noon to 3 PM on Sunday as well. All executive members of Janjati and other Nepali organizations are invited to join us. Others are also welcome. The address is 42-19 76th Street, Elmhurst NY 11373.

We are also collecting donations for Dr. Mahabir Pun's one dollar per month campaign for Information Highway in remote villages of Nepal. We will appreciate your generous contributions.
