चिटिक्कै 'भा छु रे यो रातो सारीले, नमान्नु दिक्क निधारमा टिका लगाउनु नारीले

न्यू योर्क, September 1, 2008- गायिका शिन्धु मल्लको उपर्युक्त तीजको लोक गीतसंगै नेपालमा गणतन्त्र घोषणा पछिको पहिलो तीजले यसपाली न्यू योर्कका नेपाली दिदी-बहिनीहरुलाई निक्कै नचायो । नेपाललाई बिर्साउने गरी तीजको सुमधुर गीतहरुमा नृत्य गर्दै यि नेपाली दिदी-बहिनीहरुले नेपालमा कोशी बाँधबाट पीडित नेपालीहरुको राहतको लागि कपडा र आर्थिक सङ्कलन गर्ने काम पनि गरे ।

नेपाल दुख्दा बिदेशमा बसोबास गर्ने नेपालीहरुले झट्‍ट सहयोग गर्ने चलन त छँदैछ तर चाडको रमाइलोलाई नेपालको दुख्ख निको पार्ने साइत गर्ने यो काम भने उदाहरणीय मान्नु पर्छ।

उसो त, विश्व भर छरिएर रहेका नेपाली नारीहरुले तीज चाड धुमधामसँग मनाउदै छन्‌। हिन्दू नारीहरुको चाड भएर पनि आदिबासी जनजाति नारीहरु पनि रमाइ रमाइ नाचेको देख्दा तीजको लोकप्रियताको नापो गर्न कुनै कठिनाई रहेन। आज साँझ न्यू योर्कको क्विन्स स्थित सत्य नारायण मन्दिरमा आयोजना गरिएको तीज कार्यक्रमको आयोजक संस्था Nepalese Women Welfare Organization को अध्यक्ष रेणु सापकोटा हुन्‌ भने उपाध्यक्ष उषा शेर्पा, सचिब नादिया लिम्बु र कोषाध्यक्ष नर्बदा क्षेत्री हुन्‌।

Soon, her Nepali dress code will vanish from her daily outfit as she pursues her American dreams and tries to adapt to the American way of life.
