पुण्य कमाउँन दोबाटोमा बसेर
बटुवाहरुको तिर्खा मेट्थे रे बराजूहरु
पुण्य कमाउँन
कुवा खनाउँथे रे पुर्खाहरु


पानी पिउन नदिदा
पापी भईन्छ भन्थे
अर्को जन्ममा
काकाकुल भईन्छ भन्थे

अहिले भने म पानी कै युद्ददेखि रहेछु
गाग्रीको तानातान हुन्छ पँधेरोमा
काकाकुल हुनेहरु बढ़ी रहेका छन्
रोक्छ्न् एक घुट्को तिर्खा मेटन
इनार बनाउनेहरु
पर्खाल लाउँछन् पानीमा

अर्काको कुवा पूरी दिने दाऊ रहन्छ
कसरी मूल सुकाउने दाऊ रहन्छ
पानीको लडाई चर्को छ

अब धर्म कमाउँन कोही
कुवा खनाउँदैन
कोही उकालो सिरान चौपारीमा
जल बाड्दैनन्
