न्यू योर्क, November 4, 2008- अमेरिकी जनताले आफ्नो ४४ औ राष्ट्रपति चुन्न आज बिहानैदेखी पोलिङ बुथहरुमा मतदान गर्न लाइन लागेका छन्‌। बिहान ६ बजेदेखी राती ८ बजेसम्म मतदान हुनेछ। ओबामा र मेक्कैन मात्र होइन अन्य ८ जना पनि राष्ट्रपतिका लागि उमेद्वार छन् तर प्रतिस्पर्धा चाँही ओबामा र मेक्कैन बिच हुँदैछ। गजब त यो छ कि धेरै अमेरिकी जनतालाई अन्य ८ जना पनि राष्ट्रपतिका उमेद्वार छन्‌ भन्ने जानकारी छैन।

प्रि-पोल परिणामहरुले डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टीका उमेद्वार बाराक ओबामाले जित्ने सम्भाबना देखाएको छ तर चुनावी पण्‍डितहरु त्रिपासा रिपब्लिकन पार्टीका जोन मेक्कैनलाई पर्न पनि सक्ने बताएका छन्। जे होस्, परिणाम भोली बिहानसम्म आइ सक्ने छ।

रुपैयाँको खोलो
ओहो, अमेरिकामा चुनाव लड्‍न कत्रो बिधी रुपैयाँको खोलो बगाउनु पर्ने हो । चुनावका लागि रुपैयाँ उठाउने र खर्च गर्नेमा सबैभन्दा अगाडि ओबामा देखिए। उनले झन्डै ६४० मिलियन अमेरिकि डलर उठाएकाछन् भने मेक्कैनले जम्मा ३६० मिलियन डलर उठाउन सके । दुई उमेद्वारका गरी झन्डै एक बिलियन अमेरिकि डलर उठाइएको छ। यो भनेको नेपाली रुपैयाँ ७७ अर्ब हो अर्थात नेपालको २०६५/०६६ को बजेट २ सय ३६ अर्ब, १ करोड, ५९ लाखको झन्डै एक तिहाइ।
