न्यू योर्क, January 9, 2009- सन्‌ १८१६ मा बेलायतसँग सुगौली सन्‍धि गरी शुरु भएको नेपालको मैत्री सन्बन्धको गाँठो हिजो अफ्रिकी मुलुक बोत्स्वानासँग स्थापना गरिएको कुटनैतिक सम्बन्धसम्म आइ पुग्दासम्म नेपालले १२९ मुलुकहरुसँग साईनो गाँस्न सफल भएको छ।

न्यू योर्कस्थित संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघका लागि नेपाल मिसनको कार्यालयमा बिहीवार बोत्स्वाना र नेपाल बिचको सङ्युक्त मैत्री सम्बन्ध पत्रमा नेपाल मिसनका स्थाई प्रतिनिधि तथा राजदुत मधुरमण आचार्य र उहाँका समकक्षी बोत्स्वानाका राजदुत चाल्स टि. वागाएले हस्ताक्ष्यर गरेपछि उक्त पछिल्लो साईनो गाँसिन पुगेको हो।

बोत्स्वाना-नेपालको यो सम्बन्ध पछि दुई देश बिच राजनैतिक, ब्यापारिक र सास्कृतिक सम्बन्ध सुदृढ हुने दुई मुलुकका तर्फबाट अपेक्षा गरिएको नेपाल मिसनद्वारा जारी प्रेस बिग्यप्तीमा उल्लेख छ।

Press Release

Nepal and Botswana have established diplomatic relations today. The Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, Ambassador Mr. Madhu Raman Acharya, and the Permanent Representative of Botswana to the United Nations, Ambassador Mr. Charles T. Ntwaagae, signed a joint communiqué to this effect at the Permanent Mission of Nepal in New York this morning.

Botswana, a landlocked country, is located in Southern Africa, bordering Zambia and Zimbabwe in the northeast, Namibia in the north and west, and South Africa in the south and southeast.

With the establishment of diplomatic relations, both countries aim at promoting and strengthening bilateral cooperation in the political, commercial and cultural fields.

With Botswana, the number of countries with which Nepal has established diplomatic relations has reached 129.
